Ausrine and I married the 12th of August in Umeå, Sweden. We married in a church called Helena Elisabeth Church. It was built 1802 on Holmön, an rather large island outside Umeå in the Baltic sea. My great great grandmother was baptized there 1835 when the church still was standing on the island. In the middle of the 1950's the church was moved to Umeå and re-built at an area called Gamlia were other old buildings was moved.

After the wedding we ate dinner at Sävargården. (Sävar house.) Sävar is a small village around 20 km north of Umeå. During Sweden's last war 1809 the Russians got that close to Umeå before they were rebuffed. In the morning Sävargården was in the hands of the Swedes and the general in charge had his head quarter there. In the evening the Russian general Kaminski had his head quarter in the same house. The house Sävargården was moved to the area Gamlia in Umeå in the 50's.
